Karigurashi no Arrietty (The Borrower Arrietty), will open in Japanese theaters on July 17, 2010.

The announcement included a teaser trailer for Karigurashi no Arrietty and an interview with Cécile Corbel, the Breton folk-singer & Celtic harpist from France who co-wrote and performed the "Arriety's Song" theme song.

Karigurashi no Arrietty is an adaptation of Mary Norton's The Borrowers (Yukashita no Kobito-tachi) fantasy novel.

Ocean Waves is high school love story set in Kochi, Japan. Morisaku Taku and Matsuno Yutaka are best friends when a girl from Tokyo named Muto Rikako transfers to their school. Excluding herself from group activities, she’s eventually labeled a snob. Matsuno has a crush on Rikako, so it’s no surprise that he gets a little jealous when Morisaku and Rikako start spending more time together. The rumors around school get worse, but Morisaku still insists there is nothing between him and Rikako.

Chuu Zumou Anime short

Producer Toshio Suzuki revealed on his Ghibli Asemamire radio program this weekend that Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki is animating a 10-minute short without dialogue for the Ghibli Museum.

Miyazaki also planned and scripted "Chū-Zumō," a 13-minute anime short about sumo-wrestling mice that is screening at the museum from January 3 until February 28. Suzuki had said in 2008 that Miyazaki's next projects after Ponyo would be anime shorts for the museum, and he previously directed the musum's "Mei to Konekobasu" short, an unofficial continuation of the 1988 film classic, My Neighbor Totoro.

Karigurashi no Arrietty is a 2010 Japanese anime movie to be produced by Studio Ghibli, based on the fantasy novel The Borrowers by Mary Norton.

The upcoming film is slated for a summer 2010 release and will mark the directorial debut of Studio Ghibli animator Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who will be the youngest person to direct a film for Ghibli. Ghibli founder Hayao Miyazaki will be supervising the production as a developing planner.

The story will take place in 2010 in Koganei, western Tokyo and like the novel will revolve around a group of creatures that live under the floorboards.
