Producer Toshio Suzuki revealed on his Ghibli Asemamire radio program this weekend that Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki is animating a 10-minute short without dialogue for the Ghibli Museum.

Miyazaki also planned and scripted "Chū-Zumō," a 13-minute anime short about sumo-wrestling mice that is screening at the museum from January 3 until February 28. Suzuki had said in 2008 that Miyazaki's next projects after Ponyo would be anime shorts for the museum, and he previously directed the musum's "Mei to Konekobasu" short, an unofficial continuation of the 1988 film classic, My Neighbor Totoro.

The official website of Studio Ghibli next project, an adaptation of Mary Norton's The Borrowers (Yukashita n Kobito-tachi) novel, launched on Thursday. Studio co-founder Hayao Miyazaki planned the No. Arrietty Karigurashi (The borrower Arrietty) film since July 2008, but as previously indicated by the producer Toshio Suzuki, Miyazaki does not direct the next film. 36-year-old animator Hiromasa Yonebayashi made his directorial debut with this project. The film will be released in summer 2010.

The original, the Carnegie Medal-winning 1952 novel revolves around the "little people" - 10 cm (about 4 inches) high - living below the floor of an English country house. (The Japanese title literally means "the little people under the floor.") 14-year-old Arrietty and the rest of the Clock family live in peaceful anonymity as they make their own home, using elements "borrowed" from inhabitants of the man of the house. However, life changes for the clock when a boy discovers human Arrietty. Ghibli adaptation transport parameter of England in the 1950s in the neighborhood of Koganei Tokyo in 2010. (Koganei in the west of Tokyo is home to a number of Japanese animation studios, Ghibli, including himself.)

Yonebayashi was a Deputy Director of Gedo Senki Ghibli animation, and it was an animation director on Mei Konekobasu short drama. It has also been a key facilitator of Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, and Spirited Away. Yonebayashi Ghibli joined in 1996, Miyazaki and his colleague Isao Takahata Ghibli founder had beheld with an adaptation of the borrower for about 40 years.

The producer and former studio head Ghibli Toshio Suzuki has revealed on his radio program that Asemamire Ghibli animation studio will announce his next film on December 16. He added that Oscar-winning director and studio co-founder Hayao Miyazaki anime currently a television advertisement.

Suzuki had already confirmed in October next project that the studio is starting a new director, and a July 10 entry in the official blog of Studio Ghibli had already revealed the studio plans to open its next feature film 's next year. Suzuki predicted in October that the next feature by Miyazaki could open in four years.

Studio Ghibli has revealed at a press conference in February 2008 that "directors [Isao] Takahata and [the son of Hayao Miyazaki] Goro Miyazaki are both development works" for release after Hayao Miyazaki, Gake no ue no Ponyo (Ponyo on a cliff), which opened in Japan last year. Studio Ghibli President Koji Hoshino added in July of 2008 that there is a chance that Ghibli likely promote one of its own leaders to achieve a film or hire a manager from outside the studio. Miyazaki himself said to the staff of his studio in November of that year that they will start work on two feature length with members of youth to their base at Over the next three years.
